Did you know that many parts of the state of Delaware are located close to tidal waters? This unique feature makes many communities in the state—especially inland bay communities like the one pictured in this month’s calendar—susceptible to storms and sea level rise.

To strengthen our coastal communities, we’ve partnered with organizations around the state to create the Resilient and Sustainable Communities League (RASCL), a collaborative network that provides technical expertise to Delaware communities in order to increase their ability to adapt, mitigate, and respond to environmental changes, including climate change. This year’s RASCL summit, slated for Nov. 15, will focus on the theme of “Surf and Turf: Implications for Future Management of Our Land and Waters.” Click here to learn more about the event.

This month’s episode of SeaTalk also focuses on resilient communities, RASCL, and the work of DESG and others to help Delawareans prepare for environmental changes. Click here to watch the episode.
