Essential COVID-19 Resources
Information on Delaware fisheries, at-home learning opportunities, and additional resources
Coronavirus is affecting millions throughout the country and around the world. In such extraordinary circumstances, we are each called to do what we can in our own areas of expertise to contribute to the greater good.
This page serves as a hub for resources we hope you will find useful, including a directory of local seafood suppliers so consumers can buy healthy, sustainable seafood while supporting the people who catch and grow it locally, as well as informal materials to help supplement the need for at-home education in marine science. We’ve also included additional resources from federal, state, and non-profit institutions.
DESG is proud to present a directory of in state seafood suppliers providing sustainably fished and farmed seafood options. For an alphabetically organized list by fish species and seafood provider, as well as general seasonal availability for that fish species, contact information and county of origin, visit the directory.
Visit our education resources page for a list of virtual field trips, classroom activities, videos, publications, and links aimed at providing teachers, parents and students support for at-home learning ideas.
Outdoor activities undertaken alone or with proper social distancing are helping many people stay healthy and balanced. From hiking and bird-watching to fishing and kayaking, Delaware is an ideal place to spend time outdoors. Learn more about how to stay safe—as well as what’s still permissible—on our nature-based recreation page, including paddling maps, fishing and state park guidelines, and more.
DESG regularly posts and shares content across our social media platforms to help connect and inform. Check out our YouTube channel for episodes of SeaTalk, 15-Second Science, and more, or connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates and resources, or to share your own important news, announcements, and discussions.
