It is common for Sussex County to see cut-off buses carrying fresh local watermelons around during summer, many of which are delivered to Laurel’s farmers market. Also called “The Block,” it is known as the East Coast’s oldest produce auction market.

In honor of Laurel’s culture, art, and agriculture, all are invited to the 3rd annual WaterColors, a free watermelon bus painting event. Join the Laurel community on July 14th from 9:30am to 1:00pm at Roger C. Fisher Park and partake in painting a “watermelon bus.”
