The Science of Oysters: A Shucking Good Time

The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays is hosting this event as part of its Winter Lecture Series. Dr. Ed Hale, assistant professor with the University of Delaware School of Marine Science and Policy and Delaware Sea Grant Marine Advisory Service specialist, will start the evening with a talk on "Biology of the Eastern Oyster and Shellfish Aquaculture Efforts Within the Inland Bays."

The talk will be followed by a "Culinary Importance of Oysters: Oyster Shucking Demonstration" by Asher Truitt, assistant chef at Harbour at Canal Square.

Beverages will be provided and the oysters are donated by Arrowhead Point Oysters.

In-person space is limited. Pre-registration is required using this form.
